Our Opportunities

Welcome to the University at Buffalo Scholarship Portal!

Currently enrolled and newly-admitted students may sign with an activated UBIT username and password. Your first step is to complete a General Application, once the season opens each fall term. Your responses may prompt a request for you to complete a Conditional Application or additional, scholarship specific questions. Follow your personalized red action prompts on your dashboard and check back on your application status regularly. We will email you whenever a new scholarship deadline is announced, using the system alias, UBscholarships@buffalo.edu.

When fully operational, the UB Scholarship Portal will streamline your search for the nearly 900 philanthropic scholarships across campus. In the meantime, please make sure to search for scholarships not yet active in the portal, which will be advertised by your academic department and dean’s office.

Keyword searches should be limited to one word or phrase (ex. political science). Do not use comma separators or unrelated strings (ex. math, physics; arts and sciences political science).

Award amounts published are for general information and actual amounts may vary.

Opportunities are scholarships accepting applications. Recommended Opportunities match with your application responses or HUB credentials, so explore those first and consider answering the required questions. You may apply for any opportunity if you meet the basic qualifications.

Action options are “none” (students are automatically considered if qualified) or “apply” (you need to answer supplemental questions to be considered).

Deadlines are midnight on the posted date. All application materials, including reference letters must be submitted on time to be considered.

Qualifying for a scholarship is not a guarantee of funding. Even if not specifically stated, scholarships are typically reserved for students in good academic standing who are also making satisfactory progress towards a degree.
