UB Scholarship Portal Closure: Please note that the UB Scholarship Portal will be unavailable from July 1 to July 14, 2025, for essential maintenance. During this two-week period, students won’t be able to access any scholarship applications or opportunities. The Portal will reopen on July 15, 2025. At that time, students can begin completing the new General Application for the 2025-2026 aid year.

For Continuing Students: The 2024-2025 General Application is now open through June 30th – apply today! This single application connects you with numerous UB philanthropic scholarships.

For Newly Accepted Summer and Fall 2025 Students: You can also complete the General Application now to be considered for recruitment scholarships.

Use your UBIT credentials to complete the General Application annually after July 15th. Feel free to explore available scholarships on the portal homepage anytime. Specific eligibility details can be found in each scholarship description. For additional scholarship opportunities, visit: Financial Aid – Scholarships. Graduate students seeking assistantships should contact their academic department directly.

Important Information for Current UB Students: After logging in with your UBIT credentials and completing the General Application, you may be prompted to fill out a Conditional Application or answer supplemental questions for specific scholarships. These are required for consideration. Regularly check the red action prompts on your dashboard for updates and monitor your application status. Award notifications will be sent to your buffalo.edu email address. If you receive an award, please finalize the payment within two weeks to secure your funding.

Important Information for Incoming Summer/Fall 2025 Students: The General Application for recruitment scholarships opens on March 1st. Please be aware that merit scholarships are managed by the Offices of Admissions and International Admissions, not through this portal. Contact their offices directly for inquiries about merit-based awards.

Regarding Essays: We encourage you to authentically share your personal story in your own voice. Please ensure you write your essays independently, without the use of AI writing tools.

Please note that scholarship funding is dependent on enrollment, good academic standing, and satisfactory progress toward your degree. Most scholarships are available to international students (exceptions will be clearly indicated).
