WNY Sophomore Externship Experience - Alumni Ambassadors

The Sophomore Externship Program Ambassador will serve as a bridge between past and prospective participants, helping to strengthen the community of the Sophomore Externship Experience. This role offers an opportunity for alumni to engage in leadership, mentorship, and program promotion, while enhancing their own professional skills and network.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Promotion and Outreach:

  • Actively promote the Sophomore Externship Experience through various channels (e.g., classroom presentations, campus & community events, social media).
  • Participate in informational sessions and tabling events to share personal experiences and encourage student participation.

Mentorship and Support:

  • Mentor prospective and current externs, providing guidance on application processes, expectations, and preparation. Host office hours – 1 hour per week.
  • Serve as a peer resource throughout the program to foster a supportive environment.

Event Participation and Representation:

  • Represent the program at recruitment events, panels, and networking gatherings.
  • Support coordination and facilitation of key events, including workshops and externship orientations.

Program Feedback and Development:

  • Provide insights and feedback to program staff to help improve the externship experience.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop new ideas for engaging programming and student support.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of the Sophomore Externship Experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and community engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring and guiding peers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
