University At Buffalo Alumnae Scholarship

This fund was created in 1941 to provide scholarships to full or part-time students who exemplify the University’s ideals of leadership, learning, and service and show promise for continuing to advance those ideals. To be eligible to apply, undergraduates must first complete 30 UB credit hours and graduate students without a UB undergraduate degree must complete 15 UB credit hours. Financial need may be considered. Preference will be given to female identifying students. Finalists may be interviewed. Application opens in August with a deadline of November 1 for submission of all application components. Award recipients will be selected and announced in January.

Priority selection criteria:

  • Evidence of engagement and leadership efforts at a depth and quality that leads to genuine benefit, even transformation for the UB community and the world beyond.
  • Engagement in UB activities will generally be given first priority. Other community volunteer, athletic, social or civic engagement will be considered. High school, required, or paid activities should not be relied on to make a case, with exceptions for research, field or other professional activities.
  • Evidence of leadership. Not restricted to elected or appointed positions.
  • Academic achievement, as evidenced by GPA, academic honors and awards.
