Steinberg Prize

Muriel and Charles Steinberg established the Steinberg Prize essay competition in the late 1970’s. Funding is currently provided by their daughter, Dr. Carol Steinberg Gould. Awarded for best original works on a philosophical theme. Must be an undergraduate philosophy major. Essays, poems, stories and artwork also qualify.

The typical submission is a polished version of a longer paper (more than 6 pages) which has been submitted for a philosophy class which has already received positive feedback from faculty. The essay can be on a mainstream philosophical problem or a more advanced and specialized topic. Submissions in all formats and philosophical traditions are encouraged.
