Kerry Grant Memorial Prize
The Kerry Grant Memorial Prize is awarded to a junior or senior level Art or Art History student through a competitive essay contest. Students are challenged to reflect, question, and give voice to the integration of their social, intellectual, and artistic development and to convey the results in a prize essay reporting the results.
The awarding committee, made up of faculty from the Department of Art and other representatives from Arts and Humanities units within the College of Arts and Sciences will review essays and determine the winner based on the following essential values:
• fidelity to the purpose of the prize essay
• authenticity
• depth of analysis;
• clarity of thought;
• cogency and writing quality
