Marjorie E. Winkler, PhD ’80, BS ’75

Marjorie Winkler retired in 2013 as vice president of U.S. biologics technical development at Genentech, a leading biotechnology company. She joined Genentech in 1982 as a research scientist.

Winkler says that learning how to analyze scientific problems and test new hypotheses using multiple approaches in her years of study at UB led to a lifetime of questioning and learning. She is an active UB alumna, serving as a member of the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council and a member of the UB Foundation Board of Directors.
