Gary J. Jastrzab, BA ’76, and Wendy A. Jastrzab
Gary J. Jastrzab, a Buffalo native, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the School of Architecture and Planning, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the College of Arts and Sciences, both in 1976. He also holds a Master’s Degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
After a 35-year career in a variety of planning, project management, and public policy development initiatives for the City of Philadelphia, Jastrzab retired in 2017 as Executive Director of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission.
He was elected to the UB Alumni Association Board of Directors in 2012, and currently serves as President of the UBAA Board. The UBAA represents the interests of over 273,000 UB graduates around the world. Jastrzab also serves as the leader of the UB Philadelphia Alumni Network.
Gary and his wife Wendy established a fund to provide scholarships for graduate students in the discipline of urban and regional planning with outstanding undergraduate credentials and demonstrated financial need.
