Bruce W. Challen, BA '30

The late Bruce Challen, a Buffalo native and 1930 UB graduate, spent most of his working life outside of Western New York. He lived in Chicago while working at Kraft Foods; served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; then lived in Virginia while working at the U.S. Treasury. After he returned to Buffalo in the 1980s, he received a UB fundraising call. Challen, then 82, decided to name UB in his will, leaving a generously endowed fund that has been in place since 1994.
