Our Opportunities
Welcome to UB’s Scholarship Portal! We’re here to help you find funding for your education.
For Current Students in the 2025-2026 Academic Year:
- The 2025-2026 General Application is open from July 15, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Apply today! This single application connects you with numerous UB philanthropic scholarships and awards. After logging in and completing the General Application, you may be prompted to fill out a Conditional Application or answer supplemental questions for specific funding opportunities.
For Newly Accepted Students in Summer 2026 or Fall 2026:
- You can complete the General Application starting January 20th to be considered for recruitment scholarships.
- Important: Merit scholarships are managed by the Offices of Admissions and International Admissions, not through this portal. Please contact their offices directly for inquiries about merit-based awards.
General Information for All Applicants:
- Annual Application: Use your UBIT credentials to complete the General Application after July 15th.
- Explore Scholarships: Feel free to explore available scholarships and awards on the portal homepage anytime. Specific eligibility details are in each description.
- Additional Opportunities: For more opportunities, visit Financial Aid – Scholarships.
- Graduate Assistantships: Graduate students seeking assistantships should contact their academic department directly.
Regarding Essays:
- We encourage you to authentically share your personal story in your own voice. Please ensure you write your essays independently, without the use of AI writing tools.
Important Notes:
- Students applying for need-based funding should complete the FAFSA annually. Students ineligible to complete the FAFSA but who still have financial need should complete the “financial challenges” section of the General Application, providing a brief explanation of their circumstances.
- Most scholarships and awards are available to international students; exceptions will be indicated in the scholarship description.
- If you are selected for any funding in UB’s Scholarship Portal, you will be notified via email with the amount you are eligible for and the next steps to finalize the funds.
- Scholarship eligibility depends on enrollment, good academic standing, and satisfactory progress toward your degree.
- For quicker refunds, consider setting up Direct Deposit.
- For purposes of our scholarships, the term “underrepresented” is intended to refer to individuals who have been historically underrepresented in a particular field of study, profession, or educational pathway based on factors such as socioeconomic background (e.g., Pell eligibility), first-generation college status, geographic origin, educational access, AmeriCorps alumni status, veteran status, or other unprotected characteristics. This term does not establish preference based on race, sex, ethnicity, or any other protected classification under applicable federal or state law.
